In the early 1930s, Talahi and Sequoyah Hills were developed and promoted as Knoxville’s most distinctive residential areas. They weren’t just the setting for grand and comfortable homes—they embodied the developer’s vision of a better way of living in harmony with nature and the growing city to the east.

Sequoyah Hills now serves as the gateway to Knoxville’s Bearden area, which has become the heartbeat of the city’s fine shopping and dining scene. Highlands Row, an upscale retail development on Bearden’s Forest Park Boulevard, is a dream revived, an historic restoration of the Highlands Grill restaurant alongside a dramatic new building that honors the original’s rich heritage.

From the early 1930s to the early 1960s, the Highlands Grill was one of Knoxville’s finest dining establishments, and, for its generation, a well-known landmark. Another generation recognized this building as the home of Andrew Morton’s Fine Gifts. Today, the original restaurant has been restored to its pristine condition, and a new structure in the same architectural style has been built to blend with the neighborhood, thus ensuring that Highlands Row will continue to serve as a Knoxville landmark for generations to come.

To achieve the understated elegance and charm that define this unique property, developer Tom Weiss used authentic Old World materials, including concrete roof tiles, gas lanterns, and iron accents hand-forged by renowned local artist Preston Farabow. Inside, 21-foot cathedral ceilings, mezzanine levels, and gleaming wood floors create a sense of something truly special, a soaring open space that still feels intimate for business owners who want to connect one-on-one with their customers.

Up to six retail spaces are available for lease at Highlands Row. For more information, please contact Tom Weissat 865-607-5500.
